ARAPAHOE COUNTY HOMICIDE SUSPECT ARRESTED IN COLOMBIA

UPDATE

Max Arsenault, 33, a suspect in a Colorado homicide, was captured in Medellin, Colombia, after two months on the run, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

Arsenault, who was free on bond, fled shortly before his trial was to set begin in January in the fentanyl overdose death of Nicholas Dorotik in unincorporated Arapahoe County in May 2023.

An autopsy determined Dorotik had about three times the lethal amount of fentanyl in his system, the sheriff's office said.

Arsenault was apprehended by Colombian authorities March 4 and extradited to Colorado. A woman charged in the case was sentenced to state prison.
