HUMAN REMAINS 'SCAVANGED AND SCATTERED'

Investigators are attempting to determine whether human remains found in the wild were consumed by a bear or another creature, the Mesa County Sheriff's Office said. The "scavenged and scattered" body parts were discovered near the Wild Rose Picnic Area off Lands End Road on the Grand Mesa on July 5. The incident apparently occurred between June 22 and July 5.
