An Aurora police officer was indicted in the shooting death of a suspect who dropped a gun during an altercation.
Matthew Neely, 54, is charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter in the killing of Rajon Belt-Stubblefield, 37, at Sixth Avenue and Billings Street on the evening of Aug. 30, 2025, prosecutors announced Monday.
Neeley was attempting to stop Belt-Stubblefield for speeding and driving under the influence. Belt-Stubblefield's vehicle crashed and a struggle ensued resulting in the shooting.
