MORGAN MAYHEM: DRIVER OF STOLEN AUTO NABBED AFTER WILD CHASE

A stolen auto smashed through fences, tore up farmland, veered onto I-76 in the wrong direction, spun around and collided with cop cars in a wild chase in Morgan County.

The driver, identified as Samuel Curtis, 28, was arrested. He was sent to hospital and then booked into jail.
A deputy located the vehicle - which had been stolen in Aurora - at the Flame Steakhouse on Highway 34 on Monday afternoon. "The driver initially appeared to comply with the deputy’s commands but then entered the vehicle and fled," the sheriff's office said. "Despite the vehicle traveling through fields, private property, county roads, and Interstate 76, no serious injuries were reported." A number of Morgan County sheriff’s vehicles sustained damage as did the stolen auto and agricultural property. Morgan County is located 80 miles northeast of Denver. [Photos: Morgan County Sheriff]
