OFF-DUTY DEPUTY SAVES DRIVER FROM BURNING AUTO IN JEFFERSON COUNTY
A heroic off-duty Jefferson County deputy pulled a driver from a wrecked SUV moments before it erupted in flames.
The SUV collided with a traffic signal pole on Oct. 8 near Columbine High School.
"The driver was unconscious inside," the sheriff's office said. "Deputy Dobson rushed to assist – he pulled the man from the vehicle as smoke and fire billowed out."
A second deputy who was on patrol checked the auto for other victims before the fire engulfed the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
South Metro firefighters extinguished the blaze.
