A rookie Aurora police officer saved a week-old baby's life with infant CPR, officials said Monday.
The mother was enroute to the hospital when she spotted the officer's patrol car.
"She quickly ran up to his car pleading for help," officials said. "He began life-saving measures on the infant, performing CPR for nearly five minutes until Aurora Fire Rescue arrived to escort the baby to the hospital." The officer has been on the force for less than two years, a police spokesperson told the Daily Sketch. The dramatic incident occurred just after midnight on March 1 at East Colfax Avenue and Sable Boulevard. [Photos: Aurora Police]
