FRIDAY'S PRESS REVIEW

The Salvation Army will cease managing three of Denver's hotel-turned-homeless shelters, citing the need to ensure “financial stability,” the Denver Gazette reports.

It's under contract with the city to manage the Aspen and Stone Creek shelters on Quebec Steet and the Tamarac Family Shelter at Hampden Avenue and I-25 through Dec. 31, the Gazette said.

A new operator will be hired. Other Salvation Army facilities will remain.

Meantime, the Denver Post reports
Water World will close its popular Calypso Cove on Aug. 25, for rebuilding.
