COLD CASE: MYSTERY DEATH BY CYANIDE

On Oct. 10, 1957, the E&E Ambulance Service was called to the Beazell residence on LaSalle Street in Colorado Springs.

The ambulance crew found Dorothy Allen Beazell, 50, unconscious and her physician husband, James, attempting to revive her. A nurse provided help as did police and firefighters - but Mrs. Beazell was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy found cyanide in her body. The case is a mystery.

Dorothy Beazell is buried next to her husband at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
He died a few months later on Feb. 7, 1958. He was 49.

If you have information, contact the Colorado Springs Police Department (719) 444-7000.
