With the White House waging a "reckless" trade war, Colorado’s effective tariff rate rocketed to 21% this year from 3% last year - the highest in more than a century, Governor Jared Polis said Thursday.
Further tariff escalation could push the state's economy into recession, according to the Office of State Planning and Budgeting.
"Trump’s tariffs are a tax on hardworking people and businesses," Polis said.
