Two puppies were discovered alive early Friday in the rubble of a two-alarm fire in Thornton, the city fire department said.
Two homes were gutted - and the American Red Cross provided for housing and the immediate needs of the residents.
The blaze broke out late Thursday in the 11900-block of Saint Paul Street. Several other pets died. There were no human casualties. North Metro Fire, Westminster Fire, and South Adams County Fire sent mutual aid. [Photo: Thornton Fire Department]
