UPDATE
Two police officers shot and killed a burglary suspect wielding a large "shiny metal object" in Denver early Friday, Police Chief Ron Thomas said.
Thomas described the object as a makeshift knife - a metal stake with a handle.
The incident occurred outside a shed at an apartment complex in the 3200-block of South Parker Road. The suspect was pronounced dead at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood. He wasn't carrying identification.
Meantime in Colorado Springs, police shot and wounded two burglary suspects, one of whom raised a rifle at officers on Thursday night, officials said.
A third suspect was arrested during the incident at an apartment in the 500-block South Nevada Avenue. One of the wounded suspects was a woman.
