WHITE HOUSE SEEKS PETERS TRANSFER TO U.S. PRISON

Reports say the White House is formally attempting to transfer imprisoned former Mesa County clerk Tina Peters to federal prison from state custody.

Peters, 70, an election denier and Donald Trump supporter, is serving a nine-year state prison sentence for voting machine tampering.

Political allies are calling for her release though Colorado officials say only the state can initiate a transfer.

Peters is imprisoned at Las Vista Correctional Facility in Pueblo, which houses female inmates from minimum security to close custody.
