Rescue squad personnel, medics and firefighters raced to the aid of an ailing hiker who signaled for help via an emergency radio beacon from remote Indian Creek. Thursday night's complex operation in deep wilderness took many hours and a variety of vehicles and equipment, Douglas County Search and Rescue said.
