A household project involving expanding spray-on foam insulation went awry and burst into flames.
The material, which releases flammable vapors while curing, was exposed to an open flame in Saturday's mishap in the 11600-block of Elk Head Range Road in Littleton, West Metro Fire Rescue said. "The homeowner used a fire extinguisher to knock down the fire just as firefighters arrived," officials said. No one was hurt.
