Three high school wrestlers from the Western Slope and a coach are in hospital following a tragic bus crash in suburban Denver, Western Slope Now reported Monday.
The bus, which collided with an auto in Lakewood, carried 13 students and two coaches from Central High School in Mesa County Valley School District 51. Occupants of the auto also sustained injuries. At least one victim of Saturday night's accident was ejected, police said.
"No additional information regarding medical conditions will be released by the district out of respect for the privacy of those involved,” the school district told Western Slope Now.
The tragedy occurred at the intersection of Kipling Parkway and West Sixth Avenue, police said.
