Police arrested a suspect Friday in the death of a woman found near Mountain Range High School and Silver Hills Middle School in Westminster. Thomas Perales, 38, was taken into custody near 120th Avenue and I-25 on suspicion of second-degree murder and other charges, police said. Preliminary information indicates the woman and Perales were acquainted, police said. The schools were locked down when police located the woman's body Thursday. In Broomfield, police arrested a shoplifting suspect Tuesday and found two grams of meth hidden in his shoe. In Pueblo, police Thursday arrested Santana Montoya, 25, as a suspect in a man's murder on Lakeshore Drive on Nov. 9. The victim was identified as Santana Lucero, 31. Bond was set at $1 million cash, officials said. In Cheyenne County, authorities are searching for a red auto that caused damage to the Cheyenne Wells Cemetery over the Thanksgiving holiday.
