MEDICS MAKE END RUN AROUND DOG PLAYING DEFENSE

Medics called in a giant fire ladder to move a patient because a protective family dog "was not especially excited about unexpected visitors," West Metro Fire said. "Rather than add stress for the dog," officials said, "Tower 2 was called in, the ladder was extended to the second floor, and firefighters safely secured the patient and brought them down to the waiting ambulance." The creative response occurred in Lakewood on Tuesday - and the patient and dog both recovered.
