FIREFIGHTERS SAVE ARVADA HOMES; WILDFIRE EVACUATIONS LIFTED

UPDATE

Firefighters saved homes from a raging wildfire Thursday in Arvada.

Residents were briefly evacuated in the vicinity of 82nd Avenue and Quaker Street, authorities said. No injuries were reported.

At the height of the blaze, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said on social media: "Leave this area now."

The blaze burned about 10 to 13 acres, Arvada Fire said.
