Search teams saved an injured snowboarder from Skyscraper Glacier north of Rollins Pass, the Boulder County sheriff's office said.
Rescuers reached the man by traversing a 300-foot path in glacial snow, treated his injuries and lifted him to safety Monday. He was flown to a hospital by helicopter.
The snow boarder, aged 27, was descending "when he fell, sliding and tumbling approximately 100 feet down the snowfield before coming to rest in a bergschrund," officials said.
A bergschrund is a crevasse at the junction of a glacier with a steep slope.
