Attention autumn leaf peepers:
"Respect the speed limits and pull over at scenic overlooks or approved parking areas” when taking in the beauty of the Rockies' changing colors, Major Brett Williams of the Colorado State Patrol says.
In September and October 2024, the state patrol investigated 212 injury and fatal crashes in the High Country, mainly stemming from dangerous or illegal passing and speeding.
“We want you to enjoy your view without becoming a hazard behind the wheel," Williams says.
