BANG! AIRLINER CABIN EXPLODES IN FLAMES IN SKY

The Federal Aviation Administration warns lithium-ion batteries can erupt in "thermal runaway" in the sky - and that's what apparently happened aboard this frightening Air China trip.

Flight 139 to Korea made an emergency landing in Shanghai. F
light attendants extinguished the flames. No one was hurt in May's mayhem.

On social media, Air China said a “a lithium battery in a passenger’s carry-on luggage stored in the overhead compartment spontaneously ignited.”

The batteries are common in laptops, cell phones, etc.
