Investigators found no evidence of arson in the ruins of a Nederland shopping center after excavating the site, examining video and interviewing witnesses, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.
The cause of this month's blaze remains a mystery, pending further analysis by federal, state and local authorities.
The conflagration destroyed almost 20 businesses - an economic crisis for the mountain village. Evacuations were ordered at the height of the blaze as water supplies dropped to dangerous levels.
No injuries were reported.
