Colorado Spring's hero police dog Roam "wagged his tail a few times" as he faced the long road to recovery from a brutal stabbing, officials said.
Vets operated on the K9's neck, abdomen and leg - and while somewhat alert - "Roam is still not out of the woods," the Police Foundation of Colorado Springs reported Thursday.
A burglary suspect stabbed the proud pooch during a standoff Wednesday. No officers were hurt. The suspect was arrested. The crime occurred on Gorgeted Quail Grove.
