WOUNDED POLICE K9 SET TO GO HOME; LEG AMPUTATED



Hero Colorado Springs police K9 "Roam" - repeatedly stabbed while apprehending a criminal suspect - is set to be released Saturday from a veterinary hospital after life-saving surgery, including amputation of his left hind leg, the police department said.  
"CSPD extends our sincere gratitude to the veterinarians, surgeons, nurses, and staff at Animal ER Care, whose exceptional skill and compassion saved Roam’s life," officials said.
The dog was injured Oct. 15, suffering wounds to his
neck, abdomen and leg.
