Firefighters saved a dog and a puppy Thursday from a house fire in Commerce City, the South Adams County Fire Department. The pets sought shelter in the basement. The blaze started in the rear exterior of the house and spread to the kitchen and attic. One resident was assessed for minor injuries at 78th Avenue and Magnolia Street. "Crews were quickly able to get water on the fire," officials said.
