Boulder police conducted fresh interviews this year in the 1996 JonBenet Ramsey murder case and are calling for her killers to surrender, Chief Stephen Redfern said Friday.
“I urge those responsible for this murder to contact us,” the chief said.
Police collected new evidence over the past year and tested and re-tested evidence to generate new leads. "Techniques and technology constantly evolve," Redfern said. "This is especially true with technology related to DNA testing.”
The girl's body was found at her home on Christmas Day 1996. She was six years old and a participant in youth beauty pageants.
"This case remains a top priority for our department,” Redfearn said. “This past year, our detectives have conducted several new interviews as well as re-interviewed individuals based on tips we’ve received."
