Evergreen Fire/Rescue say: "If you have a fire inside your microwave oven while cooking, leave the door closed and push the stop or pause button. By cutting the heat, you'll break the Fire Triangle and the fire will go out. If you push the door open button, the heat stops, but fresh oxygen flows inside."
