In Littleton, police clocked a suspected drunken pickup driver tearing up the pavement at 96 mph in a 50-mph zone. That's a 36-point violation. "This kind of speed and impaired driving puts everyone on the road at risk," police said. "This holiday season, let's keep our community safe ... Take alternate transportation, drive sober, and drive the speed limit." Fresh case in point, this weekend in Craig in northwest Colorado, drunken driving is suspected in a fatal wreck on West 1st Street. An auto swerved across a double-yellow line and struck another head-on, Craig police said. The driver of the swerving auto died while the other driver was treated at hospital and released.
