JUST ANOTHER DAY ON COLFAX AVENUE: COPS BUST BREAKAWAY BIG BIRD
UPDATE
Police and animal control officers apprehended a runaway emu that charged onto West Colfax Avenue at Quail Street in Lakewood on Monday.
"We had a pretty emu-sing day," Lakewood police reported on social media. Wikipedia says emus can sprint up to 30 mph. The emu is the second tallest type of bird in the world. The ostrich is No. 1. RTD transit police, who patrol bus and rail lines, provided tactical (and perhaps moral) support. [Photos: Lakewood Police Department]
