DENVER JURY: HE'S GUILTY OF MURDER IN FIRST DEGREE


A killer who eluded police for more than a year has been found guilty of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery.

A jury convicted Gregory Stapleton, 42, in the fatal stabbing of Richard Ford, 36, during an argument on the Auraria campus near downtown Denver on Sept 8. 2020, according to the city DA's Office.

Stapleton was arrested on a warrant in January 2022.
The crime occurred at the Auraria Higher Education Center at 1155 St. Francis Way and Stapleton faces a term of life in prison without parole.
