POLICE SHOOT AND KILL MAN BRANDISHING GUN

Police shot and killed a man Friday brandishing a gun during a foot chase in Greeley.

The Weld County Sheriff's Office provided the account:

"Officers were attempting to apprehend a male suspect who was wanted for misdemeanor and felony charges. The suspect fled, and the officers chased him on foot. "During the incident, officers attempted to use less lethal impact rounds, but the suspect did not surrender. "While being pursued, the suspect quickly turned and brandished a firearm. The suspect was shot by officers." The gunman - whose name was withheld - was pronounced dead at a hospital.
