Three would-be bank bandits dressed in black and wielding heavy metal cutting tools tried and failed to bust open an ATM in Westminster, police said Wednesday.
The crooks got away in a black Chevrolet Avalanche with white front doors - a vehicle which the cops call "pretty unique." The money machine sustained damage. The attempted robbery occurred recently near 120th Avenue and Huron Street. A similar crime occurred in Lakewood. The truck's license plate looks to be a green-and-white Colorado tag.
