Alert neighbors called 911 to report a house fire near Cactus Bluff Avenue and Ironwood Street in Highlands Ranch on Tuesday. The family was away. Firefighters located their dog inside but were unable to resuscitate it, South Metro Fire Rescue said. [Photo: South Metro Fire Rescue]
