2 FIRES STRIKE SAME BUILDING HOURS APART, 2 COPS INJURED


A fire at an apartment building wasn't fully extinguished leading to a second blaze a few hours later, the Westminster Fire Department said.

Two police officers suffered smoke in inhalation in the first blaze, which damaged a single unit. The second blaze damaged eight units and spread to the roof. No injuries were reported in that incident.
"The investigation concluded that both responses were the result of the initial fire and has ruled them accidental," officials said. The fires occurred late Wednesday and early Thursday at the
