An SUV struck a light pole at Highway 85 and East 136th Avenue in Brighton early Wednesday, killing the driver and igniting a grass fire.
"The male driver was ejected from the vehicle on impact," police said. "Responders attempted lifesaving measures on the driver, but he was ultimately pronounced deceased on scene.
"It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash," police said.
Brighton firefighters extinguished the blaze.
