GUNMAN BLASTS AUTO IN BRIGHTON

A man fired several shots into an auto in Brighton early Sunday - missing the occupants. Then, he fled.

The shooting occurred at about 1:30 a.m. in the 100-block of North 4th Avenue. 
Officers were in the neighborhood and heard the gunfire.

"
The occupants reported returning to a party in the area, and as they arrived, a Hispanic male began shooting at them," police said. "The shooter was unknown to the occupants, and they did not sustain any injuries.

"
Due to the number of shots that were heard, officers conducted a safety sweep of the house and property and ensured there were no gunshot victims," police said.
