Determined police chased and captured an athletic thief in Northglenn.
Spotting officers, the suspect broke into a sprint exiting a store - "dropping stolen merchandise and running across busy streets, through parking lots, over multiple fences and through backyards," police said.
The spectacle began when license plate readers led police to a stolen auto parked nearby.
"The stolen vehicle had been tampered with and was being used in connection with retail thefts involving more than $1,000 in stolen goods from multiple stores," police said.
"The suspect was also identified as a repeat offender tied to previous incidents," police said. The incident occurred near Washington Street and Malley Drive on April 7.
