DENVER ZOO'S YOUNG GIRAFFE IS 'SYMBOL OF HOPE'

The first giraffe born at the Denver Zoo in a decade is thriving. Thorn is just over a year old and is "a symbol of hope for this Endangered species," the zoo said. "This May, he'll permanently join the herd at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo as part of a carefully planned AZA Species Survival Plan recommendation, helping ensure a genetically diverse, sustainable giraffe population for generations to come," the zoo said.
