MANY INJURED AS SCORES OF AUTOS COLLIDE ON I-70 IN ROCKIES

Scores of autos piled up Tuesday on I-70 near the Eisenhower Tunnel in a spring snowstorm, injuring at least 19 people, the Colorado State Patrol said.

The Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office estimated at least 75 vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes.

The types of injuries were "varying in degrees" and the westbound lanes were closed for "medical staging," the state patrol said.

The interstate was closed for hours.
