Eugene Elisha, 67, was arrested as a suspect in the kidnapping and violent assault of a teenage girl in Frisco three decades ago, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation said.
Bail was set at $2.5 million. The crime occurred in a stairwell at a condominium complex on Feb. 6, 1998.
"Technological advances in DNA allowed investigators to generate new leads from the original DNA profile," CBI said. "Subsequent testing of a DNA sample obtained from Elisha confirmed a match to the evidence collected in 1998."
