CHEMICAL LEAK AT MAJOR FEDERAL LAB IN JEFFCO

Workers were exposed to chemical fumes Tuesday at the National Laboratory of the Rockies in Jefferson County, a major U.S. Energy Department facility.
"A call to 911 reported a strong chemical odor in one laboratory," West Metro Fire said. "Four to five people were exposed to the chemical but did not need medical treatment. "West Metro's hazmat team made entry to the lab, and found an obstruction in the lab's ventilation system," the fire service said. "The team cleared the obstruction to get the system working properly again." The laboratory is located at
15013 Denver West Parkway.
