PICASSO LANDS IN DENVER

Picasso - a three-year-old Himalayan monal with stunning plumage - is one of the newest arrivals at the Denver Zoo. He's named for influential 20th Century painter and sculptor Pablo Picasso. "These birds are native to Asia including Afghanistan, Bhutan, northeastern India, southern Tibet and Myanmar and are highly expressive," according to his zookeepers. "They use a mix of body displays and vocalizations to communicate everything from courtship interest to contentment, aggression and more." [Photo: Denver Zoo]
