Following a nine-month investigation, 30 suspects - including alleged leaders and members of the violent Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang - have been indicted for a crime spree in Denver and Aurora, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Monday.
Federal agents "recovered 69 firearms through this operation, including automatic machineguns," officials said. "Many of these firearms have been linked to shootings in Denver and Aurora, including carjackings, robberies, and drive-by shootings."
Two suspects face charges of conspiracy to commit murder for hire.
Others are accused of trafficking methamphetamine, cocaine and Tusi - a drug originating in Venezuela containing ketamine, methamphetamine and Ecstasy, officials said.
