Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed crisis legislation Thursday to close the staggering budget gap caused by White House tax policy.
The legislature met in special session over the past week on the $1.2 billion budget shortfall and agreed to slash spending, cut corporate tax loopholes and draw on a rainy-day fund on a limited basis.
"These are challenging decisions that President Trump and Republicans in the Washington swamp are forcing states to make," Polis said.
