MIRACLE ON 88TH AVENUE: HARROWING ESCAPE AS TRAIN SLAMS AUTO
A freight train plowed into a car Sunday night - moments after the people inside the auto jumped to safety, fire officials said.
The BNSF Railway locomotive shoved the auto into a crossing signal at 88th Avenue and Highway 2 in Commerce City.
"The occupants of the vehicle were able to escape without injury before coming into contact with the train," the South Adams County Fire Department said.
