Erik Hernandez-Escobar has been sentenced to seven years in prison for a hit-and-run crash that killed a man and injured members of the man's family, prosecutors said Friday.
Hernandez-Escobar, 20, fled the scene at Holly Street and East 58th Avenue in Commerce City and claimed his vehicle had been stolen. The tragedy occurred last Oct. 6.
“This was an unspeakable tragedy caused by the thoughtless actions of this defendant,” District Attorney Brian S. Mason said.
