DEPUTY KILLS MACHETE MAN

A deputy shot and killed a man wielding a machete early Sunday at a Walmart in Arapahoe County, the sheriff's office said.

The man "advanced toward deputies with both a knife and a machete" and "a deputy deployed a Taser, which was ineffective," officials said. "As the subject continued to advance, another deputy discharged their firearm," officials said. Medics pronounced the man dead at the store at 10900 East Briarwood Avenue. The incident occurred at 7: 12 a.m.
