UPDATE
A harrowing hazmat incident closed the 84th Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-25 early Monday. The Thornton Fire Department said 50 to 75 gallons of hydrochloric acid leaked from a truck's cargo bay onto dirt and soil. Fortunately, "it was determined that there was no run-off into waterways or stormwater drains," officials said.
No injuries were reported. The truck was bound for Wyoming. Firefighters from Adams County also attended the incident. [Photo: Thornton Fire Department]
