The sun sets over Colorado ghost town Ludlow at the entrance to a canyon in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Ludlow is located 12 miles north of Trinidad along I-25. Striking coal miners and their families were slaughtered in Ludlow in April 1914 by the state militia and coal company strike busters.
