FIRE CREWS SAVE HOME, STOP GARAGE BLAZE FROM SPREADING - BUT PET DIES

UPDATE

Firefighters stopped flames engulfing a garage from leaping to a home in the 6300-block of Downing Street in Adams County early Thursday. Sadly, a dog died in the raging blaze, the fire department reported. There were no other casualties. Neighboring fire departments rendered assistance. Meantime in Brighton, firefighters stopped a shed fire from spreading to a home Wednesday night, fire officials said. There were no injuries.
